Will Moving Companies Move This?

As you prepare for your upcoming move and wondering what items moving companies will and will not transport?

Some items are hazardous or fragile, so it is important to understand what is allowed on the moving truck. Each moving company is different, so be sure to ask specific questions to the company you decide to hire.

Here are some common items customers typically have questions about:

1. Will moving companies move liquor?

Yes, most moving companies will move unopened bottles of liquor. Bottles that have been opened will not be transported as leaking is likely to occur.

2. Will moving companies move wine?

Yes, most moving companies will move unopened bottles of wine. Bottles that have been opened will not be transported as leaking is likely to occur.

3. Will moving companies move food?

Sometimes. If the shipment is not going into storage, canned and dry foods that have not been opened are acceptable.

Perishable items and open container items cannot be packed or moved. If the shipment is going into storage, no food items can be included in the shipment.

No, moving companies will not move fertilizer under any circumstances. Fertilizer is combustible and could pose a threat to the truck and the contents on board.

Yes, moving companies move lawn equipment. However, all gasoline and oil must be drained from the equipment prior to transport to prevent leaking and danger of a fire.
