Get Peace of Mind with Our VIRTUAL Survey – No one in your home!

Traditionally, a Daryl Flood salesperson would set an appointment to come to your home and perform a survey of your goods. We understand that with social distancing measures in place, we must get creative!

With our virtual survey solution, you can receive a move estimate from the comfort of your own home, without unnecessary in-person contact. How easy is that? Virtual surveys are performed by a Daryl Flood move expert and can be used for local, long distance and international move estimates.

virtual meeting

Using your mobile device or tablet, you will take the Daryl Flood representative on a virtual tour of your home, showing the items that need to be included in the move estimate.

We find this option to be just as accurate as a traditional in-home survey. You can also use this opportunity to discuss your questions and concerns.

Our customers find the virtual survey:

  • Easy to Use – A simple technology that anyone can use.
  • Convenient – Schedule a time that works best for your schedule, even weekends and after business hours are available.
  • Safe – During the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing is of utmost importance. Virtual surveys comply with the CDC recommendations for social distancing.

wash your hands

Let’s Protect Each Other – Hand Washing & Sanitation

We’re going to ask for your help on this one! Our drivers and crew members will be strictly adhering to CDC guidelines on hand washing (at least 20 seconds with warm water and anti-bacterial soap) and sanitization (using sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol as the active ingredient) and we ask that our customers do the same.

When you help protect our move crews, we can continue to provide essential services to families just like yours across the nation.

Before our crew arrives please take time to disinfect commonly touched areas such as doorknobs and furniture surfaces.

Our team will keep to regular hand-washing routines while in customers’ homes as an added layer of caution.

Donate Food & Items to Others in Need

If you’ve visited a local grocery store in the past few weeks, you may have noticed that commonly used items and food are scarce.

Our community is relying on generous donations to help those who are not able to visit stores, do not have the means the purchase these goods or simply can’t find them.

During this challenging time, it’s important that we do our best to support others to mitigate the negative effects of COVID-19.

While packing, we encourage you to set aside any unwanted household items and non-perishable food for donation. Our movers can donate the food items on behalf on your family through our partner, Move for Hunger.

The Less the Merrier – One Person Oversees the Move

In cases such as these, where the CDC recommends social distancing, it’s better to have one person from your family (at least 18 years of age) designated to supervise the move. Our crews will be able to take direction from that individual while maintaining the recommended 6-foot safe distance.

We understand this might be an inconvenience, as the responsibility is assumed by one single person, but we feel it’s best to ensure the safety of your family and our move crews.

Just as you prepared for your move safely, we want to ensure you finish your move the same way. Here is an easy reference checklist to complete as soon as you move in.

After Your Move Checklist:

Sanitize your items – Although your items were most likely sanitized before or during packing and loading, we recommend a thorough sanitization of surfaces (try this bleach mixture from the CDC) and frequently used items upon unpacking, as well as, discarding any external packing material as soon as possible.

Disinfect your new home – Using the same bleach mixture as mentioned above, clean and disinfect your new home including bathrooms, tile and floors, kitchen counters and appliances.

Stock not stockpile – Gather essential grocery and household items using delivery options from major retailers like Target, Walmart, Costco and Kroger.

Get connected – Be sure set up internet and cable access as soon as possible to stay up to date with relevant COVID-19 news and let friends and family know you’ve settled in safely. If you are a remote worker, or your employer has mandated a temporary work from home policy, this will be important for you to have.

Take a deep breath – You did it, you successfully relocated during a pandemic. Take some time to unwind and de-stress. You deserve it!
